Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, a series of children’s horror stories, has been scaring the crap out of America’s kids since 1981. The American Library Association placed the series on its Most Challenged Books list from from 1990 to 1999 — there were more people trying to get it banned than any other book. If you’re trying to pick up your own copy of the series to scare the crap out of your own friends, you’re out of luck. When the books were reprinted for the series’ 30th anniversary, the publishers decided to replace all the scary pictures with these.
Well it’s… cute I guess. But I’m definitely not going to lose any sleep over them.
